Geographical Coverage / Area of Operations
Introduction
DAO maintains a strong presence across Sudan, ensuring that its operations are close to the communities it serves. By establishing offices in strategic locations, the organization is able to respond effectively to both immediate humanitarian needs and long-term development priorities.
Main Offices
DAO currently operates nine main offices across Sudan:

North Darfur (El Fasher)

Kassala (Kassala)

Northern State (Dongola)

Red Sea (Port Sudan – Headquarters)

River Nile (Aldamer)

Gedaref (Gedaref)

White Nile (Kosti)

Khartoum (Omdurman)

Al Jazeera (Medani)
These offices are strategically located to cover key states, enabling DAO to coordinate operations, provide oversight, and deliver timely support.
Subfield Offices
In addition to its main offices, DAO manages subfield offices in areas that are harder to reach but equally critical:
Kornoi (North Darfur): Covering Altina and Umbarou localities.
Twilla: Serving the Tawilla locality.
Rokero (Jebel Marra): Extending coverage to remote and conflict-affected communities.
These subfield offices demonstrate DAO’s commitment to reaching vulnerable populations, even in regions where access is extremely challenging.
Future Expansion
DAO remains committed to expanding its geographical coverage in response to evolving needs. Whenever human-made crises (such as conflicts) or natural disasters (such as droughts or floods) strike, DAO is prepared to extend its presence into new regions of Sudan.
By doing so, DAO ensures that humanitarian assistance and recovery efforts reach those who need them most, no matter how difficult the terrain or circumstances.
